September comes, whispering quietly of autumn. We find ourselves at the cusp of summer, beginning slowly to merge into a time of reflection and giving thanks. September is a time of harvest, of reward for hard work.
The law of karma teaches us that we reap what we sow. And indeed, if the potatoes, carrots, and peppers were carefully planted after the first frost in spring, and the seeds were watered, nurtured and given love and attention, we can now fill our baskets, celebrating our cooperation with the elements and Mother Earth.
September is the season of Virgo. Virgo understands that the virtues of planning and working structured and organized, are rewarded plentiful . If you’ve planned well and worked diligently, now is the time to enjoy the benefits of your labor, no matter in which area of your life.
Helping others - being wild animals, friends, colleagues, family members or pets, will be remembered and cherished. Helping others and doing good in this world is indeed a quality of Virgo. Is there anyone you know, humans or animals, who could need a helping hand?
The pagan festival of Mabon (Sabbat) on the 21st marks the Second Harvest and coincides with Thanksgiving. The holidays reminds us about the importance of creating balance between taking and giving and the importance of giving thanks and feel gratitude for the abundance we receive.
In September, the grass is still green and the earth is still warm. The changing colors of the leaves in the trees tells us to look upwards and enjoy the last rays of the warming sun, before the days get shorter and the nights get colder.
With the celebration of the Second Harvest on the 21sst and the autumn equinox on the 23rd, you are ready to enter into the colder part of the year. Hopefully with a shed filled with chopped wood, a cabinet filled with jams and root vegetables and a heart filled with gratitude and grace.
Warm regards,
Janne
